Around three decades ago, Will Eisner’s A contract with God was hailed by the West as the world’s first graphic novel. If one were to take that as the beginning, then Graphic Novels are indeed a nascent industry. It’s an industry that today leads the publishing sector as the platform with the highest growth rate – not just in terms of sales volumes, but in terms of content variety as well. It has become the medium of choice for a host of new author-artists who use it as skillfully as traditional writers used books.
